Very nice painting, as usual.

I am building an OG Norman army ...well I actually started it along time ago and have not been interested in finishing it. I wish that the OG had smooth shields for the colorful designs you used. I think that my file might have to come out before I am intrigued enough to work on these guys again.

Great job. I do like the colors. I had the impression that the Normans should be darker and more "metally". hmmmmm

Its like movie night every time you post up a new army, n. Grab the popcorn, goobers and a drink; sit back; enjoy the show.

Well done as always. Love 'em!

Neldoreth, you do such otherwise excellent work I have been reticent to point this out...but your horse's eyes look like human eyes. Normally you cannot see the whites of a horse's eye. It shows when they are startled (and it could be argued that horses in combat are likely to be startled) but even then it usually only shows on one side or the other, horse's pupils are quite large.
It distracts me from what are otherwise terrific paintjobs, probably because I am primary manure management technician for 6 hayburners and see them up close every day.
On the plus side it makes em easier to paint
A dot of high gloss dark brown or even black, or a small white dot to show the reflection of light does the trick.

That is an interesting point for sure... I will have to keep that in mind in the future... Of course, blue-eyed horses aren't all that uncommon either, especially with horses that have white on their heads/faces.

Thanks again,
n.

And some humans have the personality of the "business" end of a horse.

Thankfully not on this forum.

Glad you took that the right way, wasn't trying to offend but you know how it goes on the internet

In general blue eyes are only found on paint or cremello horses (what some folks call a "white" horse). There is the possiblity of a very minimal paint that looks like an otherwise solid color horse with a blaze but the genes are there from a paint.

Good basic discussion here if you're interested:

Keep up the good work, it is inspiring me to get the next army primed up meself

I avoid the whole issue by not even trying to paint eyes on 15mm animals (well, except elephants - I really have no choice there).

Great job N.
