Hi folks,
Has anyone ever tried to do a "Silent Auction" style sale here on Fanaticus? That would be where an army (or whatever) is put up for sale, and folks send in bids to the person selling it. The person regularly updates the highest bid, so far (but not necessarily saying who), and that way others can up their ante if they want. I would envision it being updated maybe one or two times a day, with the auction running a week or so. I know this is pretty much a manual version of an online auction like ebay. However, the drama of last-minute bids, waiting till the last hour, could be avoided. Also, it would be a way of skipping the ebay commission. Chris, if you read this thread, would it be an acceptable use of this forum? Let me know, as it is something I have a fancy to try out. I have a 15mm Wood Elf HOTT army I'd like to sell, and thought this would be an interesting way to do it. Thanks! |

I doubt that Chris would mind. Not very much different than just offering it for sale.
