Great news Scott. Hope to be there (will have to await the rostering man's edict).

Hope to be in good enough health to last the day this year.

Got as far as the car park last year then two weeks of with the flu! At least I know how to get there.

Hope that Karl has got his Indians ready for a sound thrashing, didn't quite manage to do it at the Nationals this year, darn!

I've been given a "green light" to attend..
I'm assuming it's 15mm?
Do I have to pay in advance, or can I pay on the day...?
No restrictions on army choice other than Bk I, II & III only..?

cheers

Hi again,

Whilst I remember, are there any restrictions on placing rivers..? (not that I am, for one moment, considering something so heinous)

I assume players are required to bring their own terrain...?

Do I have to bring a 2'x2' board? I have 4 or 5 that I can bring along if required....

Finally (for now at least) whilst I'm hoping my sat nav will get me there without too much incident, is there free parking close to the venue..??

Regards
Bob Mcleish

Default Bob queries

Hello Bob

It is 15mm.

You can pay in advance to Karl, information given below, but if you let us know before hand, then pay on the day that will be fine, helps with numbers for catering etc.

Army is sections 1-3 ONLY, no 4. We did it that way last year, with only a few minor grumbles.

Terrain is as you like it, probably best to bring your own, but there will be some spare, there are boards, however a lot of people bring their own, up to you. The boards are 2x2, we speak English in Alvechurch, not some foreign language called American.

The parking is free, and way more than sufficient as it is a Sports and Social Club.

Payments to:
Karl Farrell
1 Withybed Lane
Alvechurch
Worcestershire
B48 7NX
Payment is £5 to "The Birmingham Templars War Games Association", includes sandwich lunch. Please include your name, address, phone number and email address.

The venue is:
Alvechurch Sports & Social Club
Radford Road
Alvechurch
Worcestershire
B48 7LD
(near junction 2 of the M42)
If you put the post code into Multimap it puts the circle on the opposite side of the road to the club, but otherwise very accurately. Do a maximum zoom in otherwise "The Square" does not show.
NOTE
The registered office address and post code are not this address, this is the one to use.

Anything we need to change before then we will post on Fanaticus, so keep an eye out here.

Everybody enjoyed themselves last year, so hopefully we will have a good time again.
If you bring a better half/camp follower etc, then Solihull is about 15 min drive up the M42, it is a really good shopping centre, you need a week and a second mortgage, but useful as an inducement to let you come.

We do need to confirm the start time, when we do we will put it on Fanaticus, however I expect it will be 10 for 10.30 first game start.

Default Midland DBA start time

I can confirm that the start time is 10.00 for 10.30 start for first game.

Sunday 17th May.

We should get five games as last year, no finals or semi-finals.

There is a very real danger I might be able to make it to this one too!! I have the time off work, just need to do enough hoovering and ironing to earn a Sunday away!! I am working on a new army http://dbanstuff.blogspot.com/ which I will have finished in time. It will be a nice opportunity to try it out before PAWS in June.

Will update when I know for sure.
