Surely this doesn't mean more than two moves?
Light horse would have warp speed if it does.
With the words second and subsequent in the same phrase, it seems to mean "after the second move" this seems like too much to me.

Anyone?
Beuler?
anyone?

Yup. Gallopy, gallopy. Its quite useful for LH armies. And I think realistically keeps their opponents unbalanced.

Oh yeah - watching the LH zoom around your flank is VERY educational. Of course, when I try it my scheme never works out. I should just stay a foot soldier.

Also educational is watching a bunch of Psiloi zoom into juicy woods on your flank during the first move.

Light Horse can move up to 6 times per bound, as a group or indivdualy (for the last 2.5 years.) Just cannot start the second or subsequent move within a base width of the enemy or pass that close during the move.

Do you have 2.0? See bottom of page 9

Oops... how did I miss that one? Psiloi too, but only in the first turn, right? How many other hidden zingers are lurking within these rules?

Oh no.....light horse can use that extra move in any turn. Only psiloi are limited to the first turn for those extra moves...and don't forget warband that can take a second move if they end up in combat contact. All these extra moves cost PIP's though (thank goodness!).

Other zingers? Well, even ponderous Elephants and War Wagons can make multiple moves along roads, although, after their first bound, it will cost such column-groups or single elements an extra PIP per move to do this. (See last line of Pg.9.)

Subsequent moves are something that is missed by quite a few players. I don't know why because the wording is perfect and it is one of the clearer sections.
I have played at least two players who have sat and watched slack jawed when my Psiloi rush in and ambush their battle line from BG on bound one. You'll never forget the look you get. But I bet they use it in the very next game!
In DBAOL you can get very heated responses when you use it on the unknowing, I was flabberghasted when I was on the receiving end for the first time.
Lh moving lots is great, one of the finer rules in my opinion, a couple, or even one element of Lh has to be regarded as a potential camp or flank attacker and taken into account on moving.
In DBAOL this power is reduced by the rule that doesn't allow them to subsequentl move if they are within 600paces. one base width is much better.

Long live the light horse/psiloi power house!

The Psiloi 1st move option is one that can make the oddball 'weak' armies viable IF you have exploitable terrian AND get good PIPs on turn 1. Early Libyans, Gasgans and Phokians have all used this effect to get a rare win against their much 'better' opponents.

Question

I'm a lover of Lh and Ps myself, having lots of them in most of my armies, but...

Can elements that move more than one time end up in such a way that they project their ZOK onto enemy elements? Or must they remain OUTSIDE one element width, permitting the enemy to move freely, making his own "march moves"? If they can project their ZOK onto enemy elements at the end of such moves, this rule becomes much more influential on the game in my view...

Roll sixes!
