Psiloi, Ax and support versus Wb

Hi there,

I have the 2.0 rulebook, plus the 2.1 and 2.2 ammendmends to the rules add ons. I have been using the unofficial guide and rapid reference sheets extensively 8specially the later).

On Saturday, in Zaragoza's tournament a french player pointed me out that thwere might be a mistake there in the unofficial: According to him, Ps do NOT provide rear support to Ax vs Wb.

Is this the case? I would like to know it from a straight 2.2 publication if possible, just in case the add on sheets I have just missed the point. The unofficial says they do, but the frenchmen say it does not, and they seem to have the rulebook with them :P Is this a UDBAG mistake?

I don't have the 2.2 rulebook with me at the moment (being at work), but I am 99% certain that Auxilia DO get Ps rearsupport against Warband and mounted. I'll check when I get home to my rulebook.

Spears, Blades or Auxilia add +1 if fighting mounted troops or Warband or attacking a BUA or camp while supported by a single element of Psiloi lined up in contact directly behind them or directly behind a friendly element of the same type in side edge and front corner-to-front corner contact with them.

"Spears, Blades or Auxilia add +1 if fighting mounted troops while supported by a single friendly element of psiloi lined up in contact directly behind them or directly behind a friendly element of the same type in side edge and front corner-to-front corner contact with them."

No mentioning of warbands here, so they must have been added in the 2.1 or 2.2 version, I guess.

Aaagh! Pope in Birmingham, Pope in Avignon. The great DBA schism. I suspect somebody wanted Late Romans beefed up a bit.

Yes, support vs. warbands was added in 2.1. If I remember correctly, this coincided with warband no longer getting a -2 in bad going.

One interesting thing to keep in mind with this interaction: auxilia get the +1 for psiloi support even in bad going. Warband get a +1 for double ranks, but not in bad going.

Page 10 Paragraph 6. Line 1. Insert "Or attacking a BUA or camp" after "troops".

Nothing about Warbands. So support against warbands should be introduced in v2.2.

Does anybody can tell me where can I find the changes from 2.1 to 2.2?

I went back and took a look at my copy of 2.1 and you're right, psiloi support against warbands was introduced in 2.2. That will teach me to post based on my memory.
