Default Painting Seleucids (II19a)

Having finished my son's Teutonics Knights (and my own Early Samurai), I am ready to move on to my own new list - Seleucid (320-280 BC); list II 19a. Can anyone point me to a good guide for painting them? I think I have a general idea of what they should look like, but I don't want to spend a lot of time on them only to find they should have had different shield designs or colors. I searched the web hoping to stumble upon a nice set of picutes, but to no avail. Was there much difference between early and late periods of Seleucids? Thanks for your anticipated help!

There are very few sources for Seleucids which show colours, and shield designs are take from coinage so may not actually be shields in all cases.

Colours - go with what you might find for the Macedonians. Purple may well have been used for the Agema and Companions and possibly the Argyraspides. Saffron yellow could also be appropriate for these guard units. The Argyraspides should have silver shields. The other pike shields may be white or bronze. One design which is probably a Seleucid shield device is an anchor - I think Seleucus had a birthmark shaped that way. Have a look at some of the commercial sites which sell shields for some ideas although I think the LBM ones are a bit too garish.
Ax would be in a variety of tunic colours, probably white shields.
