I find myself with enough knights painted up for me by a friend of mine, to be in a position to field a Romanian Frank army.

I see it can have a number of Melingoi javelinmen, who are ethnic Slavs. Does anyone know what figures, (preferably Essex Miniatures but any compatible 15mm range would do), I could use to depict these?

Essex do have a Dark Age Slav range but these guys I want to field are in the 13th century so maybe their dress has changed in the intervening years. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

As an aside, I used to have a DBM version of this army, sold it and regretted it ever since. Proof positive that you should never sell your stuff. Having said that, Hell will freeze over before I sell my DBM Macedonians!!!!!

I think that Slavic dress changed little if any over the period. Especially since the Melingoi were IIRC primarily hillmen who had migrated to Greece. The HSA Essex Slavs should be ok. Outpost also has Slav javelinmen if you want some variety.
