Question

Could you help me to find correct English version of aphorism of Thucydides:
“One should not be proud of casual misfortunes of an opponent. It is necessary to experience (feel) self-reliance only when one surpassed the opponent’s plans”.

My knowledge of Thucydides' Peloponnesian War is good, but I cannot off the top of my head remember every line (yet!)

Do you know at least which book it is in?

Sorry, but I could find just Russian version of this aphorism in the Internet without any link to book.

Pretty sure it is not Pelopponesian War as I searched two translations of that text using a wide variety of search parameters and found nothing that is close.
