My losing streak has now stretched to an unprecedented three games, culminating last night in a humiliating 4-0 defeat at the hands of David Hewkin (Siciliot LHG vs Marian Romans). Even when David put half his blades in column beyond a wood and had to deploy them into line at 2 pips per element, I still couldn't win. Naturally, it was all the fault of poor pip and combat dice rather than any lack of skill on my part.

This has led me to a startling discovery. DBA is *much more fun when you're winning*. Why doesn't it mention that in the rules?

My one consolation is that now he's working on Bolt Action Miniatures ( http://www.boltactionminiatures.co.uk/ ), Simon will never get round to posting my defeats on our battle page ( http://www.gazclub.co.uk/webpage.asp?PageId=31 )

I, on the other hand, now have an unprecedented 1 game winning streak

Andrew you are right - it IS much more fun when you are winning!

Personally I thought my tactics inspired - designed to scare the opposition into supplication. It worked!? It is so much more fun to watch other people throwing pips of 1 and 2 than doing so oneself.

I have no illusions though - my time will come, and Andrews vengeance will be swift, and VERY unpleasant.

Broke my losing streak last night. Borrowing Simon Bargery's superb Tamil Indians to fight against his almost equally good (except for the Elephant - the Tamils were a major step forwards in world elephant painting) Numidians. There were 4 elephants, 2 Cavalry (including the Numidian general) and 4 LH on the board and the game ended 4-1 without any of them getting into contact with anything. Wierd, eh? You take an army packed with elephants, Blades and other nasties, and win with the psiloi.

Still, I won, and that's the main thing.
