That is the joy of having clients doing the "extra mile" for you.

Iron Age Italians should still be fashion trend setters. Camp could have an open grave and the lovely Baueda amphora collected nearby with the pre-requisite horse's head or fish wrapped in papyrus.

Osprey 'Men-at-Arms' series number 283 'Early Roman Armies' plate 'A', 'The Earliest Roman Warriors' depicts Romulus and Remus as Villanovan warriors. The background shows round huts, which would have been correct for most Villanovan settlements, I understand.

Villanovan culture didn't imply linguistic or political continuity. It covered the area that included the bits of Italy that became Etruria, Latinum and Umbria.

Hi Paul,

What are the make of these figures? They don't appear to be Essex.

Cheers,

Interesting army. Always had an interest in the pre-Roman Italy, and forgot about these people. What a shame so much history has been lost.

I like the simple color palette you chose for this army.
