Default British Firing as Elite

Hi all,
In DBN, is the +1 bonus for British muskets firing too much of an advantage in a D6 system?

If I were to hold the opinion that it was, a possible solution to try and "simulate" British fire doctrine would be to perhaps have British Muskets win any draws when firing.

I am just curious as to what people think of this.

regards

Ian

Seems to work for me. Mind you, the Portuguese don't get to 'fire as elite', and the elite British infantry don't get anything in addition to already being elite.

Seems to me that if you tampered with the British firing advantage then you would need to tamper with the French melee in column advantage as well.

Yep, I agree with Richard Lee, 'it works' and it does not apply to Brits before 1805.

Thanks for the opinions. I had considered the balance issue with attack columns, but just wanted to throw the question out there. As usual, you make what seems a simple change and it has consequences all over the place.
I really enjoy DBN. I played last night and managed to hold off an attacking 1813 Russian army with my Prussians. A last desperate attack into woods by Russian grenadiers to try and shift my jagers failed and gave me the win. Great fun.
