Default HOTT Summer Campaign 2012 Report

This weekend I ran another HOTT Campaign. Full reports of the ensuing shenanigans can be found on my blog:

Pre-Campaign Big Battle
Campaign Year One
Campaign Year Two
Campaign Year Three
Campaign Year Four

Here's a few teaser pictures of what went down...

The Big Battle on Friday night to kick things off and try out armies

Initial dispositions on the campaign map: Spring, Year One.

A confused brawl between furries - Ratlings versus Centaurs.

The biggest nail-bitter of the campaign: the against-the-odds defence of Logit (Year Three)

Hi Tim,

I'm curious as to how easy it is to run a campaign for HOTT and whether you use the rules in the back of the rulebook for the campaign.

I've toyed with running a campaign but I've never played a HOTT campaign (or DBA) using the rulebook method but I find the text very hard to follow.

Is there an easy to read version of the campaign rules, or do you use another system.

It looks like fun.

from Matt

WE mostly use the rules as printed in the book, with a few changes... The biggest one is that we use a simultaneous move system - where everyone writes down their moves for the season and reveals them simultaneously.

There are a few other tweaks and clarifications that have grow out of running a few campaigns to deal with loop-holes and gamey-shenanigans that the rules-lawyers always seem to come up with to try and break the system...

I think somewhere on my blog I have some or most of these posted. When I get a chance I'll have a snoop and see if I can find them and post a link...

Very cool. The centaurs are awesome. Like the balloon aerial too.
