Or american infantry for that matter. I'm thinking blue moon manufacturing is to big and I don'g have much appreciation for minifigs. does anyone else make these? I'm feeling the call to do a 'Devil dog' army for Hitt. -Paul

I just received some Blue Moon late war German infantry. I worried they would be monsters too but they are lovely figures. The range has just expanded to include trench mortars and artillery. The tanks and other vehicles are just fantastic. I'd definitely go for them. Cheers, Mark |

Try Command Decision from Grandiosity(WarWeb) I get most of my 15mm WWII figs from them.

Hmm, google-fu of TMP topics shows that anyone else who asked that question never got an answer, so looks like the answer is nobody makes WWI US Marines.

Minifigs may be your only choice. I think Terry has a few in his armies, at least I received a French trench mortar off him, the sculting is adequate to use with my Irregulars.
Otherwise, how different were the Brit uniforms from the Americans? (No expert myself.....) Hey, many of our troops were armed with Enfields and the helmets were the same! John S. |

I'm at work so away from my reference library, but according to this website, the USMC in France wore the US Army uniform with their own rank badges &c., as a matter of keeping supply simple. So regular WWI American infantry should be good.
I'll second the vote for Blue Moon; here's a link to their American line. They are not kidding when they bill them as 15mm/18mm; they tower over regular 15mm figures. But as long as you don't mix them (or you don't care--figuring that your Doughboys are all husky, corn-fed boys from the Midwest named Sven and Ole), you'll be fine. They are certainly handsome figures. Otherwise, yes, I think you are left with ordering Minifigs from the UK. Peter Pig, who even does Belgians and Poles (!) for WWI does not do Americans. Irregular, who does Italians, doesn't do Americans. QRF--no Yanks. Eureka does all sorts of odd countries...but not the US. Yes, you *could* _kind of_ get away by using British figures, but the web gear is different and the coats are different. Buy some Blue Moon figures; they're pretty!

At the beginning of the fighting, the Marines had a greenish uniform. Makes them more distinctive but replacement uniforms were same as Army
http://www.carterstore.com/upload/pr...in/10024-3.jpg I have used MinFigs for all my WW1 figures and they are good. http://www-personal.umich.edu/~beatt...isercenter.jpg I used pure HOTT and classified the Marines as Beasts -- Devil DOGS http://www-personal.umich.edu/~beatt.../kaisergas.jpg The French infantry were Hordes, don't worry about losing any, there is plenty more where those came from http://www-personal.umich.edu/~beatt...serhotkall.jpg The blog picture that Chris posts has an interesting figure on the far left. Is he holding a Trench Broom? http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3RKiadC4NI...0/USMC4.G1.jpg
