Default v2.2+ Beta at Cold Wars 2012

Thanks to everyone who tried 2.2+ at Cold Wars 2012!

We had two very successful events that were both fully attended: The Pyramid Tournament in Pyramid Times and the Italian Condotta Campaign Theme.

Default Pyramid Tourney in Pyramid Times

For the first ever 2.2+ event we had 16 players, so I ran two concurrent pyramids of 8 players each. We had several experienced 2.2+ players as well as people getting their first exposure to the modifications, and even two complete newbies. The pyramid event proved to be a great format to introduce the rules since after the first round players work together giving the opportunity for plenty of "teaching".

Congrats to Alex Bostwick (Hittite Empire) for winning the 1st Flight Pyramid
Congrats to Chris Rzengota (Sea Peoples) for winning the 2nd Flight Pyramid
**This was Chris' first ever DBA event

That is interesting in that the Hittites have Light Spears and Sea Peoples have Raiders; two new 2.2+ troop types.

Any debrief after Cold Wars that might bring changes in the 2.2+ Beta draft?

We're going to be meeting tonight, but so far the 2.2+ Beta is looking remarkably stable.

Unlike v3.0 that is remarkably unstable.

Now Steven,

That was just a gratuitous comment. You would never find such an intemperate remark on the yahoo group. And aren't you and I setting out to show the wonders and stability of DBA 3 tomorrow night?
