You were very much missed! I lost count of the number of people who asked after you (I may possibly have lost count because the Pittsburgh contingent kept giving me beers I had the pleasure of meeting or playing against for the first time (I think) a number of people, including Rich Gause, Rick Wynn, John Loy, and Jeff Franz. I also had a good natter with Kevin Boylan after our RRR game about DC and its crazy commuting schedules. Once again I am struck by how fortunate our wee corner of the hobby is by having such a wide range of interesting and agreeable people. And Larry!

I played in the pyramid tourney (as Sea Peoples), the condotta tourney (as condotta from Ferrara), and this morning's RRR tourney (as ECW Royalists) and had a good time in each, though I didn't do terribly well (*someone* needs to bring up the rear of the points total! . There was an excellent crowd--I think that both Pyramids and condotta were fully subscribed, and there were at least a dozen players for RRR!

I have some photos from Pyramid and a few from Condotta (plus a lot from Bruce Weigle's 1866 game) that I'll upload later and link to from our blog.

A grand time! Thanks so much to the organizers for putting together the events and for my opponents for having no mercy.

(I did bring you back some of the nifty 2.2+ measuring devices from Alan Ferrency and from Mike Guth.)

Sure wish I could've been there. Our convention DBA community is the best collection of dysfunctional people you'll ever be around and so much fun! I hope everyone can make it to H'Con this year so I can lose to them as well.

Thanks for the update, Jan. Anyone else?

I'm sorry we missed finding you on Saturday night; we could've kept you up until 4am playing Red Dragon. It was a lot of fun, but in exchange I was pretty much useless all day on Sunday.

Thanks to everyone who ran events, it was a great time as usual!
I hope to post results of the Matched Pairs event tonight now that I can see straight.

Alan

I'm sorry too! DS told me a little of how very disturbing (and funny) it got. But given that, even getting what sleep I did, I nearly fell asleep driving home, staying up even later would have been double-plus ungood. I did want to get to Ron's RRR tourney, so...

Next time! :-)

I had a good time at my first (hopefully not last) Cold Wars. I will have to see if I can't make that an annual trip.......
