Ha, ha. Shouldn't there have been a "jagoff" as well in amongst the grumbling?

I am in for a Duplicate Tournament -- 25mm Trojan Wars and 15mm Later Book IV. Each player takes all four sides of two battles. Armies and terrain provided. Needs 8 to work.

I am also interested in a HOTT 25mm Giant game, 5 armies to a side, based on League of Extraordinary Gentlement vs Invaders from Mars (second volume of LXG series). I hope to bring in new non-DBA players so not worried about running opposite the BB game. I will put this in the main program too. Easier to teach newbies with giant game than with tournament.

But I really do like the guy and enjoy his rules, even though he calls me "Bitchy" Bob and accuses me of being a far left progressive.

I'll definitely sign up if it doesn't conflict with another must-play event, and if I can finish an army in time. Unfortunately I won't be able to finish two, since some of the figures I want for the other one haven't been released yet.

I too am a little concerned about the tight nature of this theme. Of course in could just be a targeted theme, where we would still allow others who don't have an "appropriate" army to play.

I will talk to Rick about it.

Hmmm... "Anything appropriate to the 19th century" didn't seem that restrictive to me. I know I've faced Martians, vampires, and Russians in HMGS HotT circles, and apparently Bob and his dog have TEN appropriate armies. Plus I am going to bring four loaner armies of my own. But if the consensus is that the theme won't do, I'm certainly not married to it.

I just want to play some HotT... using my own armies and not part of some larger battle with presupplied forces (not that I wouldn't play some that as well). Truth to tell I'd rather not have to personally run the event - but I figured somebody had to volunteer.

I do have someone else who was interested in running the HotT event, so let me check with him.

Don't let grumpy-pants get you down, Rick. Let's do it. I'll commit to having something painted up by then, and I'll probably be painting up something for DS as well.
