Default What are you painting for DBA-RRR

DBA-RRR obviously has sufficient world-wide appeal and loads of enthusiastic followers – surely we deserve our own 'what are you painting?' thread?

Here is my own humble offering to kick things off. I've just finished a couple of buildings from the Hovels 15mm Medieval range to spice up the battlefield a bit.

Some pictures taken today in a flood of later-winter sunlight are on my blog.

Thanks for looking

Alan

Well several pod cast/books on MP3 are getting me through painting my Neapolitan Spanish army right now. I have gotten a lot (for me) painted in the last couple of weeks. After I finish out the jinetes (2x LH) that I am working on right now, I just have 3x Sh and the Cannon to do.

Well, I'm always building more and more ECW opposing forces (I'm bent on a massive game somewhere down the road).
HOWEVER, I picked up a neat Osprey book on the army of Henry VIII in the flea market at Historicon (my family was supposedly at his court) so I've begun work on an RRR army for that period.

Haven't started painting yet, sorry, but I have ordered figures to paint up early to mid 16th century Valois French and Imperial Spanish. Most figures will be from Venexia, some Old Glory and Freikorp15. For the Swiss pikemen, I am waiting for Khurasan reopening its full range store.

Anticipation is the greatest pleasure! Or maybe painting is .. or is it playing?

Those pesky Venexia Venetians are finally done...been working off-and-on since Cold Wars on those. Now all I need is an appropriate camp, anyone have a touristy resin "Gondola" they want to sell? John S.

Recently finished two early war ECW armies. Planning on a New Model Army next. (After I finish painting my French and British Napoleonics!)

Nothing at the moment. I have painted Low Countries Spanish; had Paul paint my Cossacks; and I painted my Later Polish. All that is needed is to mount up the flags and pennons on the Poles and finally do the overall commander - the separate one for the rules. Not necessary but the figures are too cool to pass up.

Have not done any painting since the early spring. However, the army that is languishing on my painting bench is my 15mm Colonial Spanish opponents for my Buccaneers.

Reminds me of the old joke

"Hey, Blackbeard, where are yer buccaneers?"

"Under me bucking hat!"

Well it seemed funny after a couple of pints of old peculiar ale!

Just got in some Low Countries Spanish of my own. We'll see whether they're done for pick-up games at Fall In...
