Default On Campaign in Yorkshire - 1644

A brief report and a couple of photos from last nights English Civil War game using the DBR rules and condensed scale armies. It was my opponents first game using DBR though he is a regular DBA player. He took to the rules quickly enjoying the experience.

The Roundheads contained 15 elements. The Royalists, with better quality horse and more shot, comprised 13 elements.

The short report can be found here:

Thanks for the battle report. It looked like fun. I think that it was wise to teach a DBA player with a 1644 battle as opposed to an early war one. The Pi(F) vs. Pi(I) battles can be frustrating for Parliament, but by 1644 much more Pi(O) becomes available.

Glad you found the report interesting Pavane.

The new player commanded the Royalists were simplier to run. My Roundheads and had two stands of Pi(O) and three of Pi(I) including the CinC. As it turned out only one stand of Pi(O) got into combat, though I lost two stands of Pi(I) from memory.

It was a great introductory game and more are planned soon.
