Default Libyan Egyptians I/38

I have been looking to start working on my Libyan Egyptian army and believe I have most of it sorted out, Biblical armies not being a strong suit of mine), but I do have a couple of questions still.

In hte army list (2.2) there are two elements of 4 Warband and one element of 3 Warband. In the army pack I have, the 4 Warband elements are guys wearing a loin cloth and a sort of long cape, and the figures for the three Warband are just wearing the loin cloth. Can someone advise me who the four Warband and who the three Warband are to be? They do not look like typical Egyptians of the period, so I am guessing probably Libyans???

And who are and what would the Meshwesh look like?

Thank you for any help you can provide,

Going by the DBM list: the 4WB are the Meshwesh (one of the Libyan tribes), and the 3WB are Libu.

Wikipedia knows all: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meshwesh

I suppose having your Meshwesh look very Libyan (raincoat & junk jumper) is a good way to distinguish them from other elements. But, I would also suggest that over time they would dress and look more and more like the natives.

After your list, but this is what I used for 'Settled Meshwesh Militia' in my Ku****e Egyptian army.

Redwilde, excellent. I hadn't thought to check Wikipedia, and there was just what I was needing, A gold star for you. Thank you.

Peleset, and a gold star for you for sharing a picture of your army.

Both VERY helpful - THANK YOU!

They are from the one stop shop for Ancients enthusaist's, Essex Mininatures, 15mm Saite period Egyptians.

I assumed the use of the hoplon type shield was an influence of the use of large numbers of Greek mercenaries, leading to tension and armed clashes with disgruntled natives. I like his Conan haircut.
The other code in this range has the long shield.

Thanks for the info, Peleset. Like the shields on the long shield elements
