Default HOTE Texas Army

For VSF. How would you classify 2elements of Texas Rangers? My first thoughts are lurkers or skirmishers. I want to make them elite so I thought about modding HotE to include heroes.

EDIT: I have posted pictures below, and will post more as I have them.

For HotE my first thought would be to play Texas rangers as mounted infantry (decent movement, can operate in bad going, have ranged shootingbut not as good in hand to hand combat as bayonet armed regulars).

Finished up flocking the first batch of my Texas Army units. My VSF 1880 to 1899 campaign encompasses 2 rule systems thus far. HotT/HotE for mass battles and FUBAR-VSF for skirmish.

HotT: First up and first in the fight a bold Texas Ranger.

HotT: Next up a battery of the Victoria Light Artillery.

FUBAR: A squad of Texas soldiers from the 1st New Braunfels Rifles. Led by Lt. Don Gobel.

The army assembled thus far. The skirmish models in the back are for FUBAR but are still members of The Alamo Brigade. Here is the current force list for HOTE.

1 General 0AP
1 Ranger (Hero)
3 Texas Bushwhackers (Lurkers)
4 New Braunfels Rifles (Shooters)
3 Amarillo Light Horse (Mtd Infantry)
1 Victoria Light Artillery

WG, as a UT Austin grad I think this is a great looking army! What gave you the idea to build it? Looking forward to seeing more,

After playing in a Clockwork Century Battle for Nouvelle Orleans at Spring RECRUITS 2011. We had RoT, and CSA vs. French, USA and allied Prussians. I commanded the Prussians. Ever since then I've wanted to play VSF with states that could have plausibly existed in 1880, like the Republic of Texas. Will work on the CSA and Maximilian Mexico as well. That and I've always aspired to being a Texan.

I'm very late to the party but I am wondering if those are Stone Mountain figures?
