If one elephant looks good on a base, then two must be better...
[IMG] [/IMG]The figures are a mix; Old Glory, Xyston, Feudal Castings, Corvus Belli, and Gladiator. More than half the crew figures are conversions. For example, the soldier looking ahead is a Corvus Belli Balearic slinger with a helmet and armor added. I tried to make the crews look like they were interacting with each other. Archers leaning around the man in front to get a shot, a man in one crew pointing out a target to a man in another, a guy leaning forward to throw a javelin while the man behind him holds onto the back oh his cuirass so he doesn't fall out, etc. Oh, and one driver has his mallet and spike ready in case the elephant goes berserk. A more detailed shot of one stand: ![]() And finally an ememy-eye view of the elephants:

Hi Texus Maximus,
Basing two together and then two or more bases in a line certainly give a good visual presentation of what it must have been like to face such an attack -I've already started to run! ![]() Steve |

Interesting...so who makes these elephants? I would have said museum...but you did not mention them...?
Look cool. I would not do it only because I am lazy and would not want to paint two more.....but it looks cool enough. |

Yes it looks very impressive on the photo, but I am with Jeff here in that I would also not go to the trouble of painting twice as many Fanta's

I actually painted these back in 2008 when I was in Baghdad. I only had maybe an hour of free time at night, so I would almost always spend that hour painting miniatures at the small desk I set up in my quarters. There wasn't much else to do. Which was good for my unpainted lead pile - my wife mailed me a lot of it. It was only an hour a day, but you can paint a LOT of miniatures in 365 hours!
I bet there are some Chariot figures in there; I just can't remember for sure. Last edited by texus maximus; 08-26-2012 at 10:36 AM. |

I LIKE it!
I have been adding a figure or two to some of my elements to give them a more weighty feel. I don't have any elephants yet, but I might follow your lead here. I'd like to see these guys with their army in a game.

I find it funny that you post these elephants at the same time as I am working on a Seleucid army (the same one, in fact) for Field of Glory.
