Thumbs down Tin Soldier - 60% discount???

For some reason, I keep being tempted to do a Pike army (probably something Successor) using Tin Soldier. Yes, I know.. stunted dwarves, but they do have character, and I have seen some really good looking armies when they are well painted.

So I went browsing.. to discover that if I buy them through Essex Australia, they cost A$7.95 a pack, but via Tin Soldier UK, sells them at 2GBP a pack.. about A$3.06 or in other words about 40& of the price! (and theoretically, they should also refund the UK Value Added Tax, making them even cheaper in comparison.)

I wouldn't mind, but Tin Soldier are made in Australia?

WTF!!!

They're made in both countries. Guess it's cheaper running a business in the UK!

I've ordered direct from UK to the States several times. A number of their packs often have more than the alloted number of figures, which is a nice extra bonus since I use them for a big morphin mass o Hoplites -- extra stands are always good. Don't know if the Aussie packaging has this going for it or not.

Perhaps the extra figures are a way of giving back the VAT.

BIG change in the Uk pound-Aus dollar exchange rate of late - any effect on 'relative price'?

Default Tin Soldier

The Tin Soldier arrived.. great service.. great price, and I needed about 37 packs, so I got three packs of Samurai for a friend as well.. I wish I hadn't seen them, they look GREAT!

I suspect a Tin Soldier Samurai army is shortly to be added to the 100Kg (220lb) of unpainted lead..

Seriously, Tin Soldier UK, fantastic to deal with.
