Default DBA 3.0 news

From the DBA list 14/6/12

----------------------------------------------

The major time constraint is completing the expanded army lists. I am now
more than half way through the last section. I will then put these out to
selected people for checking. There is no point stopping parallel rules
development while the lists are unfinished. You can see some samples of the
expanded lists in files.

It is not rules "testing" in the sense that we are presenting a finished
product for acceptance or not. Anyone playing games and reporting back to me
may have an influence on future test versions. Some groups playing with the
previous version of 3.0 in files have had a very marked influence. This is
the benefit of large scale open testing compared to small insular and
secretive groups. The down side is that it can be a little like teaching
close order drill to cats...

As a result of the previous version of the 3.0 rules in files, we expanded
the inner test group from 12 to 30. This has made unanimity harder to
achieve, but has brought in a lot of fresh ideas that have panned out. Some
members of the group are against some of innovations on the grounds that
they are innovations, but those that have played a lot of test games tend
more towards wild enthusiasm! You will soon be able to try them yourselves.

I certainly anticipate publication of 3.0 later this summer.

As a fairly newbe player to DBA playing 2.2 here in the states, namely

pubishing?

Thanks
