Hi Kingo

I was fortunate to receive an IPad and have not looked back! Yes, initially expensive but being able to receive and store magazines and books on line, as well as providing portability of these reference sources is worth it in my view!

I must admit, if I was starting off now, I would be very interested in the Kindle Fire. But I do love my Kindle. The eInk technology is very good, and I find reading my Kindle much easier on my eyes than a standard backlit screen.

I think it depends on whether you want a sole use or multi-purpose device.
