Default WADBAG says "+" not optional ???

It seems to me that the "+" variant ought to be listed here with the other OPTIONAL rules to game copyrighted by Phil Barker:

Washington Area De Bellis Antiquitatis Gamers

Optional Rules

In addition to its DBA Playing Conventions (PDF), WADBAG has developed the following optional rules for game and tournament play.

Invasion, Manuever and Flank Marches
(with Army Ratings List)

The meaningless sh*tstorm-kicking is over on the threads about rivers and edifices in the 3.0 section, Pillager. If something on a WADBAG page offends you, you could just send a note to Chris and he'll fix it. Unless you're just being a troll, of course.

He is a troll, David. Some readers may not realize your dry sense of humor. Put him on "ignore" as I did long ago.

What are you talking about? All rules are optional, no one is forcing you to play them. I can't remember the last time I played the rules exactly as Phil had written them -- maybe 1.1???

Are you trying to say that the 2.2+ rules forum should be listed under the "House Rules" section? If so, I would suggest that you are trying to turn a practical solution into a political point. Are the + rules house rules? Technically speaking, yes I'd say they are. They are formalized, well written, broadly played house rules. But they are played by enough people that the rules deserve their own section on Fanaticus. It's a matter of practicality, not ideology.

Pilliger's suggestion is just an attempt to make it more difficult to find topics on the best version of DBA by pushing it down a menu level. It would be a disservice to the DBA community to bury a game as popular as 2.2+, and it is completely appropriate for it to be listed beside DBA 3.0.

Ahhhh, absent for a year and the fight continues. Lovely. My best to the WADBAGers. Thanks for enhancing the game in the absence of other options. (Almost a 3 year delay in publishing 3.0) Look forward to playing with you folks sooner or later. Cheers

Play what you like, and keep your sniping to one party states like the yahoo group - the thread over who has the brownest tongue is my favourite over there

I've also noticed the Litko is describing (and inscribing) "+" measuring tools in a way that leads the reader to believe it is a DBA product as opposed to a variant.

Very disrespectful to Phil.

Why is it so hard to include the word "variant" with "DBA2.2+?"

I wanted to use the word "variant" every place we mention DBA2.2+, but it wouldn't fit on the page...
