I decided to base them as my Normans are based, 2LH element for Norman army, based on famous horse archer from Bayeux tapestry. Colors are perfectly ok for Carolingian Frank army too of course. Nice little sculpts.

Very nice, Inkub! Particularly like the basing

Thanks. Color of the base is a little different then my previously painted Normans, as I have had all details noted in computer file, and my hard disk crashed. But it is close enough

Hi all,

Painting has slowed down - tends to in the summer. Have Norman Conquest army almost ready. Inf are all done, just to finish the Cv. I have used Khurasan figures on AB Napoleaonic horses - very pleased with the combination. I used a mix of Khurasan, Splintered Light and A&E figures for the Infantry. I also did some head converisons.
I am also still painting the A&E Rus, again with quite a few conversions.
I will post some pictures shortly.

Hi Ammianus,

A&E is short for Ancient & Modern - the new name for Donnington Miniatures. They offer a 'new era' range which includes a whole wealth of figures. Dark Age - Vikings, Saxons, Normans, Rus and Asiatic Nomads. You can also buy figs individually or Cv figures on their own (less horses) which is really great.

Speaking of Donnington's, I've finally got around to attempting to 'fix' my old Arthurian command stand; straightining figures, adding new banner, new paint jobs. (barded horse, heavy cav)

Redid 2 Arthurian stands & an old extra 3BW. Primed 2 stands today between the Annapolis Irish Festival & entertaining dinner guests; one of SLM Saxon "magicians" for HotT & one SRB light horse to replace the Outpost figures that don't match any of my armies.

Steve
I bought some of the Normans and they mix well with Essex to give some extra poses. Some of the figures for camps are good too.
