Default DBA 3.0 army lists

from the Yahoo group...

I have just finished 59 of Bk.4, that means there are only 25 to go.

So is the plan to publish the rules after Phil finishes these 25?

Looks like it, based on this and late Summer which was mentioned in connection with something else.

So September/October looks OK, however I will leave out the year just in case.

In the past there has been an extensive review process for the army lists, especially moving from 1.1 to 2.0. Don't know what Phil plans to do this time, but given the wide-ranging and pervasive changes made to the lists, it seems like a thorough review would make sense.

Anyone know if it is possible to get a sneal peak at the lists finished so far? I am excited.

Note that there are still more problems to be resolved even after the last 25 of book four have been completed. All of the previously written army lists need to be revised to take into account whether they are fast or solid troops types, for example the Sumerians have listed only bows are they fast or solid.

Also all the army lists need to be checked for the appropriateness of allies and the types of troops that can be used by the main army as an ally.

Right. The process above (and other, similar checks like ensuring each army had 12 elements) took three or so months with the v2.0 army lists, which were a smaller change in comparison.

Yes; until the rules themselves are stable, the lists can't be completed.

Which implies Phil must be happy in the main with the element types at least.
Not so sure about the rules, but you never know.
In fact in a months time it might be all different.

Except that the army lists have already been revised, what, twice, already? You would have thought *those* wold have been signs that the element types were set, but apparently not.

Yeah, that's the thing. He seems to keep making (fairly radical) changes to the rules with every revision. Changes like the ones just announced have to be comprehensively tested. But, then, who's to say that there won't be *another* set of changes? Then *those* will need to be tested, and the army lists corrected to account for those. Ad infinitum. It's almost as if he doesn't *want* them to be finished...
