This was my first venture to Triples - set scenarios with terrain and armies provided. This is an unusual format. I certainly haven't come across anything like it elsewhere; where the organisers think up fiendishly cunning traps for unwary gamers - great fun!

I had four really interesting games and one that was over all too quickly with a 6-1 kill on my opponent's general (sounds like there were a few of these). It's also fun to play with other people's beautifully painted figures - one minute with Sumerians, the next with Feudal French!

Living on the south coast it was a long and tedious journey for 5 games (6 would be good), but it was a great competition and a very good show - Two Dragons Miniatures' stall, where you could see all the range, painted. Wow!! Museum Miniatures selling individual figures; found some I really like at last!! I think there were more 15mm manufacturers there than at any other show I know - a good job Martin and I arrived very early. Yes, the lead mountain is growing; I've waited a long time to own one and I'm taking geat pleasure in it now.

David -after struggling manfully with your Tuaregs at Alvechurch it was nice to see you doing well here.

Thanks to all of you who organised this competition, you did a great job and I hope to see you all next year.

Colin

Hi Colin

Thanks for your positive feedback and glad to hear you had a good time. I have toyed with going to 6 games, but avoided that in order to give everyone enough time to get round the show at lunchtime.... 6 games would make this too much of a squeeze, I feel.

Thanks Colin, not sure my opponents who lost their Generals would agree, and poor Scott who not only lost his General, but also had to fight the dice Gods as well, even after it was changed.

What I singularly failed to say was -
CONGRATULATIONS to the winner, Paul Hodson, who travelled all the way from Belgium to show us exactly how it's done. Nice opponent, worthy winner.

The first time I have played in a tournament, a real pleasure. Thanks to everyone for being so welcoming (and to the dice).
