Default Re-building a SYW Prussian Army

No, I have not finished the SYW French, but do need to reorganize the SYW Prussians and Austrians. Extra elements that can be, will be integrated into the ranks of the French and I already have my eye on the newly formed Grenadiers de France, Cuirassiers du Roi and a number of Reichsarmee regiments.

This gets better and better.

Default Prussian army out of winter quarters

From my last posting, I read the Prussians have had a long enough rest.

I finished this weekend the flocking of 240 elements of SYW Austrians. Now the pendulum swings back to the SYW Prussians.

60 elements are now complete and in the photo are the next batch of 60. One more box of 60 will complete Frederick's army and we can play out those grand Seven Years War battles.

Next photos will have the Prussian army at parade. End of this week for sure.

Default To the parade ground

Latest photos have been posted featuring SYW Prussians and Austrians drilling over the new terrain features. The two big battle boards are meant to be joined together for our historical games. Those are scheduled for next month.

This week we have Italian Condotta defending against a Bavarian invasion of Trento.

At my other blog, Storm Within the Empire, you will see the collection of Dry terrain features with Mughal Indian and Ottomans.

Default Back to the Prussians

Time to bring the SYW Prussian and Austrian collection to their final step; reorganise and detailing. Photos and number of elements involved are posted to the Sojourn blog.

http://18thcenturysojourn.blogspot.n...sian-army.html

I also offered a revised list to those of you wishing to game the SYW using the DBA-HX variant. As the current list has some omissions I offer suggestions based on my studies of the Prussian Army.

More later.

Default Prussian Fusiliers added

The Prussian Fusilers have been added to the roster. This makes six regiments of two elements. Only two will have standards.

Grenadiers next.

Default Hussars are posted

Six regiments (12 elements) in all their finery can be seen at the blog. Dragoons are next, then the Cuirassiers will follow.

Default Hussars and Dragoons

Modeling the collection of Prussians based on the Battle at Prague has been quite rewarding. In a week's time, the Austrians should also be ready.

Next month, the plan is to re-fight the Bohemian campaign 1757, this time adding the two major battles of Prague and Kolin.

Scroll down to find the post covering the Hussars.

Default Cuirassiers complete the OB for Prague

Today's post brings the Prussian part of the Prague project to a close.

There are excess cavalry which will prove difficult to re-locate to another army as the uniform was uniquely Prussian. However, in time a solution will be found.

Part two, the Austrians.
