I just finished the bases on these.
http://picasaweb.google.com/Plk.Angus/EarlyByz# I know that the Essex ranges do not have the figures I would need to turn this into Belisarius' army. I will have to wait for Khurasan to round out their late romans for that, but I was well pleased with this set anyway. I took some liberties with the regimental colors and the general's panoply, and borrowed some of the color schemes from Greg Kelleher's eye candy. The vexillum is based on a story I picked up somewhere that suggested an army under Justinian once went into battle under an image of the Virgin Mary. |

Nice work. This is a colorful array when lined up together on the battlefield.

Thank you. I am looking forward to an opponent to come forth and challenge them!
Anyone in the NW WA, SW Canada area with a suitable historical opponent, I'm a-calling you out! |

Peter, I agree a very nice looking army. Looking forward to hearing the first battle reports, and hope you will take some pictures for us!

This is a work to be proud of! And so many mounted figs, you are inspiring me to get onto my Skythians!
Thanks for posting! n. |
