I am looking for some older out of production miniatures from a company called Mike's Models. These molds were later bought by Essex and eventually replaced. Essex sold them for a while themselves. I am looking for feudal era figures as well as later medievals. I dont have many catalog #'s, but some of the later medieval #'s were MP2 and MP3. Thanks for any help.

Welcome to "Fanaticus". As the resident Mike's Models geek on this forum (maybe I'm not the only one?
: ), I might be able to help you out. Folks who know me know I have a "few" old Mike's Models on hand --hopefully, less than my body weight, but I'm really not sure. : I can certainly send you a copy of an old Mike's Models catalog, circa 1982. Gratis. That will help you somewhat, but, as you know, Mikes Models almost never cast their figures with any ID-numbers. I have only a smattering of figures from their Feudal "FP" range, and fewer still that I could offer as trade-bait. I do have some surplus in their Medieval "MP" range. Most are unpainted, but I have not worked up a very good inventory of these medievals yet. You can contact me offlist at PAHannah@aol.com and we can work something out. There is also a little, niche Yahoo group, called Fans of Mikes Models 15s you might want to check out. Others there might have more of what you're looking for. The Ren line was reproduced by Essex for several years. Most of the other lines including the Feudals were not so are harder to find. A few of the 2nd edition NN which were sold mainly in UK but not in the USA (only some Byz and Macedonians were available in the USA)were also produced by Essex for a limited period.
As the guy who bought out the USA distributor, I sold them for several years by the pound at Shows. There are a few players with large private collections left. I see them at some shows. Most people no longer know what (company) they have. [ January 06, 2005, 08:18: Message edited by: rudynelson ] |
