I've recently discovered an excellent purple that I entend on using for the main color on a Selucid army. I used the same color with yellow for my Ming infantry, and used it to some extent on my Athenian cavalry.
I don't want to overuse the color, but I thought that it might be apporpriate for Selucids. Seems to me it was widely used during this period. Any thoughts? Wanax |

Hullo
Your description of colours reads as fine for me. A good general on-line resource for Ancients colours is available at: http://www.hat.com/ and more specifically: http://www.hat.com/Colors.html and http://www.hat.com/ColorsU.html which includes Alexander the Greats army. Essex also has a very fine colour jpg of Seleucid Knights with frontal army on the horses on its website (15mm pages). I would describe the colours as closer to gold than yellow. Kind Regards Derek |
