Yes, the GW washes, and the older inks, color the white figure. That's what I was pointing out in this thread - a way to "paint" a figure with a wash.

If you want to stop that effect, or at least lessen it, paint the surface with plain Future and let it dry. That will cause the clear acrylic to fill in the gaps between the pigment particles. Then when you wash it, it will flow to the recesses the way you want.

You may need more than one coat of Future depending upon the porousness of your paint.
