I'll defer to Tom on the actual size as I have not seen them in person. It says 15mm on the AoW website, I guess it is the large 15mm or 18mm.

IMO The Feudal Castings have the best Scots. I believe they are now owned/sold by Sergeant Major Miniatures in the US. I have pictures of mine in a 2009 post on my blog.

For the painted foot, I think the Gladiator are both second from the right. Thanks for the pics, they give a good comparison. Gladiator Goths are great figures but also on the small side.

I painted mine close to modern Eritrean/Ethiopian skin tone. Foundry has a good skin tone, though I used a craft paint on mine, IIRC one of the Ceramcoat Sienas.

I've had good results using white gesso. Hobby Lobby carries it. It brushes on thick and takes some getting used to. You can find examples if you do a google search. Also available in black.
