So I started reading about these folk and was intrigued at the list and the scraps of historical evidence around them and am looking to try to build them, or at least to morph an existing army into them. I do have a Corvus Belli Numidian army, but the spear elements and Bow elements are certainly not there, and the Elephant needs soma panache and a suitable figure for the Queen.

Anyone else have an interest in these folk?

I currently have listed 2 DBA armies on Ebay

First is II/57 Later Moorish
http://www.ebay.com/itm/321145356686...84.m1555.l2649
Second is I/6c Early Bedouin
http://www.ebay.com/itm/321145317903...84.m1555.l2649

If anyone is interested in either of them, I will pull them off ebay and sell for $45 each + $5 shipping, or both for $90 which would include shipping to the lower 48.

If you want better pics let me know and I will send them to you. You can either PM me or post on here. If it is getting shipped internationally, I will get you the exact price.

I also have a HOTT army, for $45 + $5 shipping as well. http://www.ebay.com/itm/321145355734...84.m1555.l2649

I have posted the blog the latest test game featuring 3.0 changes to the DBA-HX variant.

There are enough changes in the 3.0 version to weave troop classification without unnecessary tracking or score keeping. The differences between "fast" and "solid" work well as do the combat factors and combat outcomes.

The test demonstrates a classic battle between 18 elements of Chinese irregular versus 9 European trained troops, a prelude to the First Opium War.

This Tuesday, we continue further with a colonial action (1757) between the French and British. :D

My gaming group are mainly hex-based board wargamers, none of whom, including myself, like painting very much at all. (Our first game of DBA was actually played with cardboard.) But now with kids of our own, there's a lot of lego around. So we have started playing DBA this way.

These are my Early Imperial Romans covering most options - the artillery (back right), psiloi on the left, a LH (back left), and a section of Hadrian's Wall as a camp (back middle). A base width is 8 units of lego is 62mm so we are basically playing DBA in 25mm scale.

Compared to painting, you'll never worry about the miniatures being handled, never worry about a bent spear, and just think how easy rebasing is. :)

If you're thinking of trying it, one suggestion I'd make is to vary the heads or else it can look a little creepy...
