Hello.

I'm a member of a group of 6 players new to DBA (we made our first battles with this set of rules one month ago).

Our favorite figure size is 25 or 28mm.

Thanks to the rebasing of armies planned for other rules, we have a large number of 28mm armies. Particularly for the biblical period and the Middle Ages (HYW period). Just some armies for the classical era. Only the dark ages are poorly represented among our troops.

We live in northern France, in the Somme.
We would be very happy to meet others DBA players living in our geographic area.

Very recently I have got me 'Ancient Historical Battles' vol. 1 and 2 and 'Historical Medieval Battles' by Peter Sides where you can find DBM scenarios for numerous historical battles.

In the preface of the booklets the author says:
" I used WGR DBA fast play ancients by Phil Barker to test these scenarios and they were brilliant. This version is now updated to allow the battles to be fought using the more advanced DBM rules as well."

I am not sure if I understand the meaning of this sentence correctly. Does it mean that there also exists a DBA edition of these scenario booklets?

Gurus,
I have a quick question for you all. I'm in the process of expanding out my Greek Hoplites and I'm adding some HotT elements. I've finished a Hero element consisting of Achilles, Patrocles and Eudoras, as well as painting up two spear elements as Myrmidons.

Most of my hoplites are to have mixed city panoply, representing a combined city state army, however I'm intending on having themed elements accompanying Leonidas as well as Achilles' Myrmidons. Now, the crest for the Spartans is well documented but I don't know of the emblems of the Myrmidons.

Can anyone help me out?

Cheers

Hi all. Well...... I've enjoyed 9 partial games with a nice chap Down Under.

Please note the "partial" part. After 3 dead, the system refuses to send bounds...... just like years ago if you were not a subscriber.

I have an email stating the game is free, and DBAOL "Join" section also states this....so WHY is it still stopping at three dead?

I'd love complete games....writing notes to my opponent as to what happened on my last bound when the syst refuses to send it is ... tedious, especially if the syst then refuses to send that game :) ....so I have to retype the messages during another game :)

The blurb is available here:
Briefly, Saturday is a 5 round matched pairs event and Sunday is an Asian campaign. Both count towards the overall winner for the weekend.

It is possible to attend either day if that is all you can make.

We usually have 12 competitors, so if you haven't been before come along and join us. It is always a friendly, fun event.

Hi Guys I have a question about this list that maybe you could help me with?

My concern is that I believe the end date of the list to be inacurate. In Italy/Sicily the fall of Palermo in 1072 marks the commencing date for book IV Sicilian list. This is ok for the army of Roger in Sicily as Roger was left with a few hundred knights and had to depend his Muslim & Greek subjects. While Robert Guiscard returned to Italy with some Muslim troops but in less amounts to those in the army in Sicily.,then on to Durazzo.
However, this army remained in Thessaly whith Behomund and Robert raised a new army to campaign against the Holy Roman Emperor from his Italian territories in 1084.After Roberts death his sons fought over his lands.Roger Borsa may have had access to Arab troops but Behomund raised his army in Norman Capua and had little or no access to Arab or Greek troops.Their war continued until Pope Urban II mediated by 1089 but was never ended until Behomund departed on the First Crusade. Therefore I suggest at least the Norman list should end in 1089. If anyone can expand on this feel free.

For anyone who is in the Philadelphia area and could pick the fort up, the price is $175.00 Note that an unfinished resin fort from Old Glory would cost you $115.00

Nick

All,
I started this fort several years ago. It has been recently finished, but I no longer game the period in 28mm. The fort is entirely hand made. Palisade, blockhouse and barracks are made from individual cut and sharpened wooden dowel. Also includes about a dozen Perry and Old Glory Indians and Colonials, unpainted.

The dimensions are as follows - 15” wide
11” deep
4” high palisade
6” high blockhouse
12 x 23” base

Asking $300.00, postpaid in the US. Photos are available.
