John,
My regrets, I shall be off to another land, and not available to play with the toys on the 15th. Work stuff to help pay the taxman.
Good luck with the event.
Cheers

Just skip paying your taxes. That would qualify you as Sectretary of the Treasury or at least a congressman:eek

We are now only 2 weeks out from the Post Tax Day Tournament.
The Location is finalized and the festivities are set!
As a bonus this year, no one has to eat my cooking:silly
So far no one has asked for a loaner army; this obviously means that every one has seen the light and they now are the proud owners of their own stable of highly competitive Big Battle Armies:up

Any chance someone with a loaner army will be there to teach DBA? I have a friend who lives in that area and we he visited us in AZ we showed him Flames of War. I think he would like DBA.

Well, I can bring a loaner for him , no problem. The group is pretty good about teaching newbies, but it would be a major plus if he knew the basics.

I will be in Ohio that weekend. I have an appointment on Saturday evening in Cleveland that I can't miss. What time do you guys expect to finish? I notice that you are a little further north this time, so that should help.

We normally finish between 1800-1900.
She'll understand;)

I'm afraid that will be too late with the 2.5 hour drive back to Cleveland. Too bad.

Play the first two rounds only and get out of town in time to get back to Cleveland.

Actually, I made it from Newark to CWRU in 1hour and 43 min. So you have plenty of time since half that trip was on 2 lane state route:up

Will 48" x 24" mats will be used (or 60" x 24") and will they be supplied? I have a 60" mat, but would have to make a 48" one if required.

Wish you all the best of luck, of course ... I'll be sequestered in a dark movie theater injecting fantastic images into my brain for 24 hours.
I won't even really be there with you in spirit, sorry to say. :)

I will miss this event again. I don't think I've thrown dice in anger in more than a year now. I almost got rid of my figures about six months ago. Back from the brink, but still not going to be making it to Ohio for gaming anytime soon.
Have fun everyone. Roll sixes.

John, when do you expect the second BBDBA round to be completed? I'm trying to firm up when I have to be back in Cleveland, so I can let you know one way or the other as to whether I can make it.

WE usually run 2.5 hour rounds and the third always seems to go long because it's for the title. So. I would say 1600 at the latest.

Thanks again for running a great tourney, John! :up
Thanks, also, for the use of your Samurai. I may have to try those again sometime. They didn't go 3-0 but I had 3 fun games with them. And, I beat Mike - which I don't do in DBA very often. (no off-color remarks here :rolleyes )

Hey Rick, I thought that you and that other Stooge might have made it since Columbus isn't too far away. I don't think that I will be in Cleveland at the time, but I will come on down to Stoogecon if I am in the area.

Thanks for running, John. I had a good time...maybe doing schoolwork during opponent's rounds is a great way to avoid the BBDBA headache I normally get at the end of three rounds!
Khurasanians were fun to play...I enjoyed them. Jenny's "Rambo-style" explosive tipped arrows in round one weren't fun, but hey! Maybe Ninjas snuck into the samurai bowmen's ranks before the battle...
