My latest campaign, it started in September, forgot to post it here :)
We are almost done year one of the (more or less) DBA rules campaign... Good times for sure :) Check out the campaign site here:

This looks great. I've only had a chance to glance at it so far, but I'll look more closely soon. How did you make the maps? They look fantastic.

I like the way you use Calgiari as the central city of the map without complicating it by showing all the lines of movement. Is it possible to block movement through this city?

Glad you like it Mark! The map was made using Adobe Illustrator, over many iterations until I got it into an acceptably pleasing format! It was a lit of fun to make for sure!
As for Cagliari, it is currently controlled by the Kingdom of Aragon... The King of Aragon saw fit to let people pass through it, as opposed to forcing people to capture it if they want to pass through it. But at any time he could refuse to let armies pass. It is generally a smart move to let armies travel through the city thoug, unless they have the stability and confidence to defy other kingdoms... Does that answer your question?
Thanks

I'm impressed! It's very elegant. Not too busy. At some stage I want to make something similar with Campaign Cartographer 3, but I've yet to get around to it. Getting rid of terrain, as you've done, would make it easier.

Absolutely. Thanks, that clarifies my uncertainty there. I can see the why the Aragonese let others pass through.

That reminds me I need to have a friendly 'chat' with Don de la Don of Aragon regarding his sloppy issuing of travel visas to the French.
First though I need persuade those jerks from Mali to get out of my castle and out of Sicily.

I'm sure all Fanatici have been awake at night wondering when I would drive the Mali into the sea and liberate the Kingdom of Sicily.
This Saturday I achieved my dreams, and yes, finally rolled a 5 and took back my castle in Girgenti.
'What no battle?' you say...it's true. I have yet to take the field of honour this campaign and have been relegated to tedious and grim siegecraft. Such an anti-climax. But given I loose to Cory (Big King of Mali) more often than win, I'll take what I can get.
While everybody in Europe has been murdering each other like gentlemen (like that's anything new..) the Granadines, Malise and Sicilians have been chasing each other around the Med.
When N. writes up the report I'm sure you find it an enjoyable read full of treachery and bloody deeds.

Indeed, the armies of souther Europe and North Africa continue to deal death and savagery on each other and the unwitting peasants who ultimately suffer the worst of it!
So far in the campaign, thanks to the switch from pure DBA campaign rules to an update simultaneous move scheme, we have been able to play twice as many turns/seasons as we would have otherwise! And as such, we are already heading into autumn of year two of the campaign! It's been great so far, and it seems that despite the number of kingdoms involved, there have been relatively few battles! So many cities to sack, and so few armies to defend them it seems!
Still, it's been wrought with scheming and politics! And already a shift in the power structures of the lands has taken place! Check out all the of the latest action at the campaign site:

With leader with a name like Marco Polo, it is no wonder Castilla is getting pounded. ;)
A very cool campaign (and map).

Funny thing about Marco Polo... Chronologically, the real Marco Polo would have just been released from Genoese captivity and been married to Donata Badoer! He still has 22 years to live! I wonder if King of Castile, Marco Polo will get to Italy in the campaign to meet his namesake?
Fun stuff!

The kingdom of Sicily groans under the surplus of slave-girls I have accumulated in two consecutive camp-sackings.
Any takers?

The issue being that I am the King of Sicily foremost warlord of the times, not some Italian panderer. I gain my joy from splitting the skulls of Frenchmen and driving the Hosts of the Desert before me.
(end character rant)
I'm going to add some loot bags to my Saracen light horse who were responsible for the three sackages (once under the command of El Johamr, twice under my command). Some green stuff should do it.
I will try to pass up the temptation of making up a slave-chick camp for myself.

The latest fun:

Granada bides their time under assault from two Spanish Kingdoms! Will it fall 92 years before its time? More action this coming weekend!
Meanwhile, Sicily invades Naples, and the Italians war commences... in autumn!

Perhaps I will add the head of the King of Naples to the collection. So I am waiting right now...

You'll get your chance soon, Mr.Sicilian, but it will more likely be a swift kick back to where you came from. You can leave the slave girls behind, though. You won't be needing them.

I'm really enjoying reading the reports on this campaign. The next season promises some crucial encounters. Keep them coming!:up
How do resolve an encounter when more than three armies meet? Has that happened yet?

Glad you're enjoying them! To have someone outside the campaign interested is quite the bonus for me :D
As for three armies in the same place at the same time, it hasn't happened yet! To be honest, I'm not sure how I would deal with it... I'll have to put some thought into it, or ask Tim, as I'm sure he's dealt with it before...
Thanks

I'm still working on getting my own campaign going. Until then, I read reports by others with interest.

Yes, Tim has had that come up. I remember early in Tim's last HOTT campaign there was a 3-way fight that saw the Trinominians stab the Dwarves in the back.

That was quite gratifying for me, as I was playing the Orcish king, and was quite thankful that the Tria Nominians came to my aid there :) Good times, good times!

The autumn of 1303 is over and we head into 1304 next session! The last year of the campaign! Should be a good one. Here's the state of things as of Spring deployment, 1304:

The campaign is wrapped up! I am happy to say that over all it was a resounding success. Thanks to everyone who took part; everyone put in a lot of effort to make it out to the gaming weekends and ensure it came off without a hitch, and with some excellent narrative.
So, how did it all shake out anyway? Well, it was a nail biter to the end, and although we had a clear victor, if the campaign had continued, it still could have shifted. However, Sicily in the end took the prize! Seanmund regained everything he lost, won more than a few battles (one of the top-ranking prestige scorers), and was loyal to the end! Congrats to him!
Overall though the campaign was a great narrative success. The Franco-German-Naples war, the wars of the Iberian peninsula, the struggle for North Africa all came together to tell a fantastic story! Thanks again, everyone.
Check out the last report of the action on the campaign page:

Thanks N for running that!
Proof you are crazier than I.
I had a blast. Got killed and wound up winning.
The last exchange saw Siciliy and Granada plunging their assembled horse into the mass of Italian and French Kn's. Plunging ahead, the Sicilian KnG was cut down by scurvy Napelinos. Way to for the full-idiot-medieval-lead-from-the-front-and- die-trying.
Most poetic. I really enjoyed this.
