DBA v1.22 question

Did knights only flee from elephants or did they flee when defeated, destroyed if doubled?

Hi Dusty - I had scanned the DBA v 1.0 rulebook, and added the chages posted to Bob Beatties website. I have one version that was prior to the changes in DBA 2, and another that had the pre-publication changes for DBA 2.

I am sending the wording from both versions (and, in both versions KN are always destroyed if doubled)

from DBA 1.1 + updates to DBA 2

Knights.
Flee 600p from elephants.
Destroyed by scythed chariots or light horse,
or by bows whose front edge they have moved into contact with this bound, or if in bad going.
If not, recoil.

From DBA 1.1 + updates to DBA 1.22
Knights.
Destroyed by elephants, scythed chariots or light horse,
or by bows or artillery they have moved into contact with this bound, or if in bad going.
If not, recoil.

Note that in 1 Artillery was included with Bows in the "moved into contact with" part.

This was taken out in 1.1 so only applied to Bows.

1.1 is much like 2 except for the moving into the front edge.

My 1.22 version shows a flee 600 from Elephants.

2.0 + is as follows

Keith, I am confused by your notes on this. Is the first piece supposed to be the 2.0 wording? and the second one the 1.22 version? They seem a little mixed up or am I not reading it right?

Thanks for your help, guys. I'm kind of surprised it flip flopped so completely from death to flee and back. I would have thought there would have been a flee unless doubled then destroyed result thrown in there.

I kept updating my scanned copy of DBA with the version updates as they were published on fanaticus. As such, I am not sure what the offical version number would be!
