Jeff - I am impressed that you did post this. Of course, it does keep someone else from posting a potentially more embarrassing version of the games. :-)
After James and Jeff finished, I played my early Welsh (III/19a) against James Lysimachid, winning 4-2, mostly due to James undoubling a pair of pike to extend his line, but he didn't remember the warband double move that hit the single pike along with my Cv General.
I also played Jeff with my Welsh. Jeff used his Later Patricians. I ended up hugging a steep hill with my warband army. I extended my right flank, but couldn't get around Jeff. He came around my left flank with Kn and LH. He eventually took my camp, but I killed a Kn and LH. The Kn I killed was with a warband in the open when Jeff didn't leave room for his Kn to recoil, and he failed to roll over my warband, thus dieing on the recoil. We called it a draw after playing for nearly 2 hours.
It was a great afternoon of games.

Hugged the hill? Are you kidding? Those Welshmen were dug in deeper than the US Army on Pork Chop Hill in Korea. The Welsh Cav(G) kept running up the same steep hill to avoid my Kn and LH. :D

Well, after I drove you off the hill, I didn't want to give it up. Besides, my Cav(G) came off the hill enough to smash one LH, and if your other LH would not have gotten a flee result attacking my camp, I would have blasted that one, too.:D Then I could have had a fair fight with your last knight.

PS - Jeff, isn't it a bit, ahem, meek shall I say, to post your 5G-0 loss, and then self-destruct the message? ;-)

I reserve the right to revise and extend my remarks. Yes, that's the phrase. Same as Congress uses. Appears and disappears from the official record.

We will have to have a rematch. When I can find a die that rolls low consistently for who is the attacker. My die got mixed up when I used it to roll for attacker, thinking it was a movement or combat and rolled a "5" giving you terrain setup and the steep hills. ;)
