This may well have been addressed elsewhere, but I want to clarify whether you can make a move in DBA 2.1 ftf which is possible under DBAOL regs......

Here's the scenario:

1)AxAxAxPsPsPs

2)..........PsPsPs
.............PsPsPs

Line 1 is two enemy elements (Ax and Ps - but could be anything) in a group facing my 2 elements of Ps in line 2 (one behind the other). I want to avoid being flanked and have Ax 'close the door' on my front Ps but I don't want to line up alongside my front Ps and face a 2-3 combat roll against the Ax....so can I do the following:

1)AxAxAxPsPsPs

2)..........PsPsPs
.........PsPsPs

with the second Ps entering the ZoC of the Ax, but not lining up directly opposite, thus preventing the Ax closing the door on my front Ps??? You can do this in DBAOL, but is it legal under 2.1 rulings....??

The rear Ps can move left to begin to end up facing the Ax but need not complete the move in a bound. Once within a base width distance in front of the Ax, the Ps only options are then to either continue to line up, move to contact or retire. It cannot move sideways back to where it came.

As Bob said that's perfectly legal (though Phil would probably growl at you).

Of Course if you do that and I get two pips on my bound, my Ax is going to attack the Ps and my Ps is going to move to support and I'll take a 3:1 attack anyday.

1)..........AxAxAxPsPsPs
2)..........PsPsPs
.........PsPsPs

Marty </font>[/QUOTE]Fair point, although I only used Ps & Ax combos to illustrate the point of moving partially into a ZOC....... :D ;)
