Just a quick question. In the 2.0 rules, under II/49 Marian Roman, it lists II/49 (itself) as an Ally. Is this an error, should it be another army listed?
It is probably listed that way based on the civil wars that occurred during this period, and the list writer (Richard Bodley Scott?) wanted to represent a separate ally-command of Romans whose elements could not be mixed or swapped with other commands, even other Romans, and with its own pips. Just to sort of simulate the questionable allegiances of the civil wars, for historical flavor.
Just a guess, though.

PS I note that in the DBM list, a Roman ally-general is allowed, as well as sub-generals. To quote in part: "The option to use a Roman ally represents the temporary alliance of rival leaders in civil war..." That's where the self-ally in the Marian list comes from.
