Dismounting question

Can dismounters deploy as the foot type (free of charge) in the deployment phase, or must they always begin as the mounted type and dismount as per the rules, in a subsequent bound? I note there is nothing in the rules explicitly permitting the first case - I just wondered if dismounters, at deployment, could be treated as an "optional" foot type rather than being required to start as mounted.

According to the rules, dismounting happens in the first bound or after. It requies PIPs. Only 1 in the first bound but an extra PIP in later bounds. Phil says these troops want to fight mounted and it takes command control to get them off their horses/chariots, so PIPs.
