Hello,

I know, itīs a bit off topic. But Playmobil will put some nice Romans on the market in 2006.

If you are interested in some pictures have a look: Playmo Romans (http://www.playclicks.com/noticias/foro/showthread.php?s=3dc0fe09a6b5c398470827c5b159127c&threadid=6735)

These are great! Thanks for the link. If I had an extra $1000 (500euros) I would make up an army (or two, for an enemy) . What is the price of a single figure, by the way? Is my estimate too high?

I love the chariot. Great for making your triumphal entry into Rome!

Bob - The figures would probably run you about 3 to 4 USD each. So you will be able to put an army together for something around 150 USD. But will there be any historical opponents available? Vikings and Knights are a little bit of a stretch. I'd like to see some Playmobil Sassanids!

Here are the prices of the sets. I think, I will build my EIR army from Corvus Belli. They come unpainted, but are a lot cheaper .... ;)

4270- 79,99
4271- 12,99
4272- 5,99
4273- 24,99
4274- 14,99
4275- 15,99
4276- 44,99
4277- 5,49
4278- 9,79
All prices in Euro

You donīt have any enemies, you could use the Vikings as Germans (with some customizing), but the series will be discontinued as I heard.

Martin and King have good ideas for games. There are people on eBay who sell single or sets of similar Lego block people. Are there such for Playmobile?

@ Bob
You can always find some single stuff in the german Playmobil forum that I use. People are selling single figures or single parts you may need for customizing something special.

I can give you a link to an english Playmobil forum, you may find something like this there to:
http://www.playmoboard.com/vbulletin/

If you want me to send you the german link, let me know. They have lots of nice pictures there !!!

Most of the time you can get things there cheaper then on ebay. I have seen auctions at ebay where people sold a self-customized arab-warrior with his camel for about 35 Euro.

Is there some kind of lego / playmobil gaming subculture that I wasn't previously aware of? Do any of you actually game with these figures? I'd love to see some pictures.

Bob,

There is a PlayMobil store at the big Mall in Orlando. The sell individual figures, like knights and men at arms and cannons and other cool stuff.

So you can get the things you can't find on eBay or get enough of there.

@ Neubauten: Yes, there is !

Try http://www.gardenwargaming.com/index.html

And here is a link of a german homepage. Even if you donīt understand the text, they played American Civil War with Playmobil. It looks like it was fun. ;) http://www.plastikfreun.de/archiv/uebersicht.html
