For those who still use BUA's I found an interesting site that has some large paper models of famous landmarks. Pretty big for 15mm but might work for BUAs or background. See here http://www.paperlandmarks.com/

Hi, Roland. Yeah, I've seen that site and dithered on ordering and building their model of Istar Gate and/or Halicarnassus. As you note, their large size is a bit intimidating for use as a BUA. The Istar Gate, as you suggest, could sit immediately off-board, however. And, the Halicarnassus model is actually one of their smaller models so might work on-table as a BUA. Hmmm...
Using their pics as a guide, and then scratch-building them in a slightly smaller scale might be the way to go, however. The Torii Gate, in the water off Miyajima Island, would be fun to build. --Just as Waterway eye candy, nothing more, in that case.
(By the way, Boouhs get a fair amount of use out here in NAGS play, but hopefully this thread won't drift off into the merits and problems with BUAs in DBA.)

I thought the Taj Mahal might work if you cut off most of the surrounding open space in the model. Might bring it down to 6" square - still quite large but maybe useable.
The Pont du Gard would work as an edge decoration along a board edge. Roman aqueduct a few inches tall - its 21 incjes long.

Check out this site (http://www.romanseas.com/roman_photo_h.html). PDF Roman buildings. I'm going to use it for my "Caesar in Alexandria" scenarios.

He's also the other half of the "Larry Leadhead" comic strip, along with DBA-er, Doug Hamm, whose Papal Italians pulled off a third place finish in the Open this year at ENFILADE. --See, it all ties in together in this fair hobby of ours. :-)

One of my friends made a Roman Coliseum by using MS Paint.
It looks quite good.

This is great stuff, but I do not see any models to print?
Also, regarding those paper landmarks, you could photo reduce the sheets to 15mm scale and then make them up.

You gotta buy them. It's about $5.00 for a set. Quite reasonable I think.

Very impressive...
The ships are very tempting!

he also happens to be a reference figure for Ars Magica RPG players, since he did a ****load of the artwork in the early editions of the game. But that is going OT, so I'll shut up :p
Cheers,
