Does anyone know how to get hold of some software to draw up fairly simple battle maps, with terrain and troop placements shown?

I've used MSPaint to draw simple maps for battle reports, etc. I can even create icons for use on the maps, like palm trees and cities, by drawing them in one file, reducing them to the size I want, then copying them to be pasted in the map file. I've even free-handed a couple of maps for campaigns, using MSPaint. Hey, it's free!

Oh baby, oh baby, oh BABY! I have GOT to give AutoRealm a try! I've been looking at "Campaign Cartographer" (tm) for years and have never been able to justify the price (think how many figures that could buy instead).
Now I'm not going to be able to concentrate at work at all until I can down load this at home and start experimenting with it!

Just to let anyone know who hasn't checked it out for awhile, the newest version of "Campaign Cartographer 2" is substantially reduced in price from what it used to be. I think it was $79 before, it is now $39. The program does about everything and you can trace actual maps to speed up the historical process. smile.gif
