I'm working on a game that is built around the idea of multiple DBA armies on the same board all more or less fighting each other to determine one winner. The game will feature either one or two BUAs in the middle of board.

My victory point schedule before playing works out like this:

1 vp for each killed enemy element
3 vp for each dead enemy general
8 vp for controlling a BUA at the end of the game.

I want taking the BUAs to be rewarded enough to make people try to do that.

Have other people played games anywhere near the concept of this one? How did the vp's work?

Any other suggestions for VP systems are welcome.

John

Hey John, I have done something like this. I call it an on-table campaign. It was like the campaign in the book but all the "countries" are on the board at once -- 12 by 6 foot table. I just bought a bunch of 6mm figs to expand the scale of the table. Will use 15mm bases but maybe shorter movement. Or maybe zone to zone moves but in a zone shorter movment. Players are hesitant to fight, they keep moving around trying to get an advantage.

Have not worked out the victory conditions yet. I like your idea of giving victory value to the BUA, beyond just helping to win the battle if you capture it.

The goal with the BUA is also to place it in the middle and by making it valuable draw all the players into its vicinity ... who knows if it will work. Humans can confound any plan.
