Can anyone explain how the initial terrain choice works ? I can select the quarters okay, but what does it mean when you've selected them ? Also, how is the "High Scorer" chosen and who goes first ? I recently played a game where we ended up playing on a huge battlefied without any terrain which was handy as my opponent had lots of cavalry. Surely, you're opponent shd be restricted to one size of battlefield?

TIA for any & all help
Jonathan :D

The person who gets to pick the terrain is randomly selected (unless this is overridden by the custom challenge options), so you theoretically have a 50/50 shot of choosing the terrain. In terms of the quadrants, the program "rolls" a 6 sided dice to determine where you will deploy your troops. The results of that roll are compared to the numbers in the quadrants to determine where you deploy. Therefore, it is in your best interest to place the two numbers you have available to you in the quadrants you would prefer to place your troops in. NOTE: You can only place those numbers in adjacent quadrants.

Low scorer chose map, deploy and move second; high scorer chose side, deploy and move first.

Low/high scorer is random (50/50) unless agreed before by a way or another and specified when sending challenge.

There are no map restriction except by tournament rule. If you find the map chosen by your opponent too unfair, you can tell him gently so that this not done later. But this only a matter of agreement between players, good manners , and personnal opinions.

Side chosing : you put a '5' on one side, a '6 ' on another. 1,2,3 and 4 are each assigned on the four sides. A dice is rolled by the software. so yout got 1/3 chance to get each of the side you chosed, and 1/6 for eah other.
