Where are all the DBA players in Australia?
I am interested to know who you are, where you play and if you would be interested in competing at MOAB 2004, held on the October Long weekend.
MOAB 2004, is a convention run by the Southern Battle Gamers based at Sylvania Heights in Sydney, NSW.

Hi Stephen
Where are all the DBA players in Australia?
This one is in Mildura, Vic.
I am interested to know who you are, where you play and if you would be interested in competing at MOAB 2004, held on the October Long weekend.
I have only one playing partner here and I play at his place in Pomona. I just found out he's about to head 700k's north, so I'll have to get back on the bandwagon :-(
Maybe tournaments are my best option :)
I'll keep October in mind and get back to you.

There are a small number in Canberra, who mostly play in Campaigns. Still Stephen, bring your info to Quid Pro Quon in May and see if you get any takers for MOAB in October.

I plan to be at Quid Pro Quon, so will bring along the details re MOAB 2004. As they will not be finalised, we can discuss ideas for the competition.
I was at Landwaster last year and enjoyed my time at it. So, I am looking foward to visiting again.

Hi Michael.
Can't get your email to work.
I played my first real wargame against an opponent in October last year when Dave Knowles graciously took me through a couple of games of DBA on your wednesday (?) club night. I used my half finished 15mm Late Romans. Since then I have gotten pretty keen, and painted up a Sub Roman Brits and morphable Gothic army. I am starting on Feudal Castings Picts this week. I am from Adelaide, and still get across there two or three times a year. If possible, I would like to hook up with you or any other DBA players whenever I visit. Also, I would travel for any DBA event/tournament in Adelaide. If required, I can join the club. I am painting 15mm lead, but I started out in 1/72 plastic, and I can make a DBA army to suit whatever period/scale you guys play in.
I also hate all celts, and would really enjoy watching yours go down to my Romans any time.
Cheers!
Richard.

Is there any way to tempt you in the opposite direction Richard. We have a DBA tournament in Canberra on May 23rd, and there is MOAB in October in Sydney.
I believe that NWA hold a DBA Tournament in Melbourne but I can't remember the date.
All the best

!
You are being persistent Mr. Macbeth.
May this year is impossible, and in October I'm on holiday for a week or so in Adelaide.
It sounds far away, but I could say definitely I'm in Canberra in 2005 :)

Canberra Kriegspielers hold two DBA tournaments a year, one in May and One in November. If you can't make Nov 04 (Landwaster), I look forward to meeting you in 2005.
I appreciate the distance having many years ago driven Canberra to Mildura and then on to Bendigo.

Where are all the Australian players?
There must be more than a couple of us, who participate on this site!
Or are David and I the only ones who make any noise?

Count another DBAOL player living in Melbourne.

There are one or two others out there Stephen, you might even have met Aristonicus at QPQ. But it seems that you, Cremorn and myself are the ones bucking for promotion the most.
I thought I had a free run for MOAB with wife and little warbands making noises about a holiday in Tas for the October Long Weekend, but the Virgin Blue cheap flights were all gone.
Crossed fingers that another sale by one of the airlines might get me my chance.
If not, see you at Landwaster.
Cheers

Hi Stephen, Macbeth and Iron Chef,
I too am an Australian DBAer who has played in the May Canberra comp, on a number of occasions that DBA has been offered at Cancon and am seriously considering playing at MOAB.

A quick check of the directory searching under the country feild should turn up a few more Stephen. (around 3 pages worth)
Not all of them have posted recently, but that in itself led me to some intersting old threads.
I found one or two Canberrans that I was unaware of that way and thats how I got one more entry to QPQ. So its worth a shot.
Cheers

Glad to be of help Stephen,
Richard (aka Cremorn) has posted my link to Hall of Ancient Warriors as a source of DBA V2.2 in the News and Notices section.
Brian had actually sent up two copies of the new rules to Quid Pro Quon for sale. They were jumped on pretty quick. I put together an order from the rest of the Canberra Crowd and he supplied 13 copies with a turnaround time of only about 2 - 3 weeks.
Cheers
