MOAB 2004, is a convention run by the Southern Battle Gamers based at Sylvania Heights in Sydney, NSW.
Would you be interested in competing, participating or even helping to organise at MOAB 2004, held on the October Long weekend 2004?
I am expecting at least a dozen competitors so far. Maybe more. Trophies etc will be provided.
My email address is skwebb64@hotmail.com if you want more details.

I haven't been able to obtain the DBA V2.2 Rules from anyone in Australia.
No one seems to have any copies, so I ordered mine from Caliver Books in Great Britain.
www.caliverbooks.com (http://www.caliverbooks.com)
The order arrived in less than a week.
However, hopefully by October they will be easy to obtain in Australia.

Swiped from Macbeth's post a few days back:
If there is no easy source of DBA 2.2 in Sydney, you could try Hall of Ancient Warriors in Melbourne (website http://www.users.bigpond.com/brianhallhaw ) which recently equipped the Canberra DBA Crowd with v2.2.

At last the details for MOAB are up on the Southern Battle Gamers website.
So if you want to register or just find out what is happening...

Is where it is at...
Lets see as many DBA players there as possible to prove DBA is the best game to play!

Hi Stephen,
Just a few of questions about DBA at MOAB.
When will we know what version of the rules we will be using? I have 2.2 (got from Mil Sims in Melbourne). This will have an effect on those Arable armies as to whether they have a choice of compulsorary terrain feature.
Will it be one list per army or will you be permitting options to be used throughout the competion?
When do we need to submit lists/armies to you?
Regards,

Just a few of answers about DBA at MOAB.
We will be using V2.2 as it seems to be available. For those who haven't got the latest version, I will have two copies, with the changes from V2.0 and V2.1 highlighted.
You and your opponent will be permitted to select any options (if available) from the nominated armies. They must be chosen (recorded on paper), prior to determining the attacker/defender and terrain etc. That is, they can change from round to round.
You can email me beforehand or submit the armies choices on when you arrive.
Note: We will start at 10am sharp...

MOAB 2004 has been run and won...
As we had seven competitors, we played a seven round, round robin, with myself playing each bye.
Four rounds were played on Saturday and three on Sunday. Then we finished off with an eight player Big Battle.
This allowed the Canberra contingent to return home a day earlier than planned.
A full report will be compiled and sent in, shortly...

Thanks very much Stephen for running the comp (and for playing host).
I enjoyed myself thouroughly, and not just because my tactic of rolling high dice while all around me rolled low worked perfectly.
Looking forward to seeing you and your Sydney companions at Landwaster.
Cheers
