I hope this doesn't seem cheesy, but I am very excited to announce the birth of my son. Tyge Alexander was born August 19th at 2236. Mother and son are both doing well and hope to come home tomorrow. I will finally have someone to ally against mother and daughter in "Slug Bug" games and have a sympathetic ear to hear dad's excitement about some boring historical fact/discovery. The little warrior will get much time to practice his war cry. I see DBA with Playmobil figures in the future. I will stop rambling now, but I just wanted to share this with you guys.
Cheers,
Darren

Many, many congratulations & don't be embarrassed about being excited, either. I was just thrilled at the birth of all 3 of my children. Well done !

Congratulations Darren! Wonderful news (and not the least bit cheesy). But you know not all of our up and coming crop of DBA gamers are boys - just ask Xanthippus. Maybe when Mom's not looking you can introduce those Playmobil figures to your daughter too. Just trying to create a little domestic unrest ;)

Congrats Darren! It seems that you will now have that Ally General! Have you painted up a Wallachian army for him yet? Are you going to start him on plastics? Good luck!

Congrats! Of course now you have a few more years of trying to work around soccer games etc.. Bring him to Pentacon or ATC and we can all act like idiots around him!

Congrats Darren, and it is fun to play games with a son/daughter. And remember that after Playmobil he can go to Legos and from there to Plastics and well you get the picture. Heres a fun hint volunteer to do the evening feeding, I sat with my son and watched either Star Trek-NG or History channel (7ish) and they are still his favorite channel and show. He's almost 12 now, and playing and painting.

Thanks to everyone. It has been a crazy few days (and of course without much sleep). The great thing is that everyone is healthy and under one roof. Thanks again for the well wishes.
Cheers,
Darren

Welcome to Tyge. and congrats again to you and your wife. We all need a male heir to inherit or figs. Look forward to seeing the little guy. Plastic figs (probally some 1/35 scale knight types) will be on the way in the mail. When the figs arrive dump them into the crib, throw in a ruler and a couple dice and Tyge will be all set. -Paul

Just wanted to express my congradulations on the new son. As others have said it isn't the least bit cheesy. I have 6 children and the thought of their birth still can make my eyes tear up, even more than rolling 1s against 6s, knights against psoili.
